Engagement
Workshops
For Young People
We’ve led a variety of workshops for young people across Dorset and the South West, coming into schools and colleges to educate students about the joys of live theatre.
For Artists
As National Youth Theatre associates, we embrace opportunities to connect with other emerging artists. We’ve led specific workshops in Poole and Bournemouth, with more to come soon.

All Dorsetborn workshops respond directly to our current projects, offering unique insights into the development of new work. If you’re interested in learning more about our practice, and potentially booking a workshop for your institution, then please get in touch below.
A Shipwreck Story

We’re currently developing A Shipwreck Story, an interactive digital project for Poole Museum as part of their Creatives in the Community programme.

This story has been made in collaboration with pupils from schools in Poole and Bournemouth, as well as with Poole Lighthouse’s Young Writers.
Writing Out Loud
For Poole Pride, we have commissioned new writers to create original monologues, platforming LGBTQ+ stories in the Sherling Studio.

Taunton Brewhouse Summer School
In August 2023, Rohan and Tabitha Hayward led a week-long summer school for young people in Taunton, making new short plays in response to Fort, which was still a work-in-progress.
“I just wanted to express our thanks and gratitude for the Brewhouse course that you ran in August. My daughter has been out of school for almost 4 years. This course was a huge, big step for her, and she absolutely loved it! We have a lot more confidence that she really might be able to cope with a new school now that she has done your course, and found some new friends.”
